If you follow our updates on either LinkedIn or Facebook, you will know that last week I invested in a jet. Now before you start seeing pictures of me in your head turning up to work in a fighter jet, I must assure you it’s not as extravagant as that.
It’s a jetting machine for drainage repairs around Norfolk and Suffolk.
The traditional of unblocking drains was always by rods, but as technology has marched on, rods have been supplemented with cameras that can see blockages underground, something we use a lot at this leading Norwich drain company.
In fact, last week, a broken drainage rod was recovered from a blocked drain by Darren. Which is a bit self-defeating.
Drain jetting solves that and more.
How a jetting machine works
Because rods can snap or find themselves up against an immovable barrier, high water pressure will always win. Think of coastal erosion locally. Hemsby is a prime example. The sea’s power defeats the cliffs there daily and the ground crumbles because of the water. It’s similar with blocked drains.
A jetting machine can work around bends in pipes, create a higher force and remove blockages effectively.
It’s not just grease, fat and toilet paper that stand no chance against water, tree roots and other matter have no escape. The only time a jetter won’t work is if a drain has collapsed and Darren will know that from the camera survey and jetting response.
